How to Sell Website Care Plans (if you're not using WordPress) with Eleanor Mayrhofer
Переглядів 33219 годин тому
Ep 331. - One of the benefits of being a web designer is your option to build recurring revenue. As a WordPress web designer, I learned that one of the best ways to do this was to offer a hosting and maintenance plan. Or “care plan” as it’s more commonly referred to these days. For years, it was my assumption that if you use self-hosted platforms like SquareSpace, WixStudio, Webflow, Showit, et...
Lessons from a 7-Figure Agency Owner (who's not burned out) with Greg Merrilees

Ep 330 - I’ve met a lot of 6 and 7-figure agency owners over the years and there’s always often a recurring theme…many are completely burned out, disgruntled OR they’ve sold or left the agency altogether. It’s probably the main reason I personally prefer the “small shop or studio” route as a solopreneur web designer with a lean and mean contractor team but at the same time, there’s value in tru...

Relationship First Approach (to Getting Web Design Clients) with Jake Hundley

Ep. 327 - Web designers love selling, cold pitching and hustle-style marketing, right? NO!!! As web designers, most of us want a small group of trusted, good clients who they can build a successful online presence for and to keep serving them over and over again so we don’t need to keep “selling” and landing new clients. And if you want to make more but sell less, there’s one great way to go ab...

    Was trying to add an unlinked title to my header menu for my nascent agency site and found your "how to create a non-clickable menu item" which was exactly what I was looking for. Always on the lookout for good WP channels to add to my subs, so I checked out your other vids and found this trove of how-to-build-an-agency stuff. Have been a bit intimidated about venturing out on my own without resources like this and a lot of the stuff that's out there doesn't really resonate with me. Super helpful man, thank you.

    Thanks for this video. Circle certainly looks very interesting. I am at a very early stage in building an online presence. I have a nascent UA-cam channel (about Business Intelligence development) but no blog or website yet. I've been considering all in one tools such as Kajabi that provide a website and would enable me to offer training courses through the site. Am I correct in assuming that Circle users would combine it with another website which would act as the shop window to what they offer and their Circle community would be linked to that? Or would it be possible to just keep everything in Circle and direct users to it from UA-cam and social media and use Circle as your only site for blogging etc. as well as all of the community features. Thanks.

    • @JoshHallco
      @JoshHallco 4 дні тому

      @simonloughnane6683 I would personally have a website with blog, other services and products (unless they're in your course or community) separate but anything under the buckets of courses, premium content, community, coaching and partnerships) you can do in Circle. My view is: Website/UA-cam/Podcast/Socials - free content for your "audience" who aren't customers yet Circle (with all of the above) - premium content for your paid customers

    Hi @JoshHallco, (how) can I do this for a link that is part of the header, not part of the editable menu? I have a membership plugin that lets ordinary users sign up to the front end. When they log in, their username and profile picture appears in the top left hand corner the same way it appears in UA-cam when you log in. When the user clicks on either their name or their profile picture, it takes them to their profile page that they can edit. The problem is, I am also using a separate plugin that lets paying users to sign up to a subscription. When they log in, they are also able to click on their name or picture and it takes them to a profile page which they have no use for at all. I would like to remove this link so the user's name and picture are not clickable, but rather a dropdown menu can let them go to their profile if needed. This way I can use user roles to decide who has access to the clickable link to a user profile editing page, and who does not. Thanks in advance.

    You can’t claim that if there is a monetary angle/motive behind the interaction. Just a kinder gentle approach to selling a product or a service; that’s all. You might have adopted a more ethical sales methodology, but you’re still employing a strategy to push something onto the consumer. Friendship is something entirely different.

    just a note: you are talking about "Privacy Notice" not "Privacy Policy" - Privacy Policy is what you do internally - that should be GDPR compliant - the notice tells your users about your policies in a understandable (and obligatory structure) . If any legislation , court decision , authority decision happens - this needs to be analysed and reviewed and integrated into your privacy policy - ie: as an owner of your website you need to actually complay. It does not matter if this automatically gets integarted into your Privacy Notice - if you do not actually do it in your company (ie. your privacy policy9
